Take Heed unto Thyself

1 Timothy  4:16 Take heed unto thyself
, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

A lot of Christians hear the word, and go to church, yet do not apply to life the word of God that comes to them.
How many professing Christians are practising the word of God they have found? (Jer 15:16)
How many have said in their hearts:” I must rid myself of my covetousness”, “I must live holy”?
Scriptures clearly reveal that we have to save ourselves, by taking heed unto ourselves and unto the doctrine of Christ and to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. Phil 2:12
Take heed unto yourself, the Bible says, that you shall both save yourself and them that hear you.  It is not enough for you to work for God, you have to learn to walk with God so on that day it will not be said to you: “You worker of iniquity, depart from me, I know you not” (Matt 7:20-23 ). It is not enough to save souls, you have to save yourself (Act 2:40). It is not enough to work the Lord’s work, it has to be done the Lord’s way.  It is not enough to for you to rejoice that the demons are subject, your name has to be written in heaven (Lk 10:20). It not enough to have been born again, you have to examine yourself whether you are still in the faith (2Cor 13:5). He that nameth the name of Christ let him depart from iniquity(2Tim 2:19). He that thinketh he stand, let him take heed lest he fall! (1Cor 10:12)
