CHARACTERISTICS OF THE NARROW WAY:

IT IS THE WAY OF CRUCIFIXION TO THE WORLD

But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.” Galatians 6:14

Are you treading the narrow way that leads to eternal life? Only few tread that way, because it is a way of crucifixion to the world. Being in Christ is being in the narrow way and one way it shows is that you are crucified. We see a lot of people today, professing Christ but walking down the broad way that leads to hell.

Those who are in Christ and on the narrow way are easy to know — they are crucified to worldly and fleshly lusts — their habits, lifestyle, and preferences shows it. What matters to the worldlings doesn’t matter to them: they are not easily enticed by material things and fashion of the day. They do not change their Christian values: they are crucified to the world and it’s affections. I am looking for that crucified Christian. I want to see him, not just the one who says he is in Christ but every worldly interest in still in him. He is not in Christ. He is in the world but professes Christ.

The bible says there are many who will profess Christ but deny the power thereof. The power is not active in such lives. Where is the power of salvation in your life. If you claim you are saved, the power of salvation should show. The power of salvation should make you hate your worldly life. That it is not effecting a change in you means you are not saved. Many claim being born again nominally. The fruits of being born again should show. It should show in your values, in your habit both secretly and openly. Those who still cherish their sinful, worldly former life, who live by it and do not want to fight against it, has no power of salvation. The power of salvation helps fight against lusts and worldliness. The power of salvation changes a man. Today we lament the wave of Pseudo-Christianity in which people “give their life to Christ” but still maintain the worldly ways. In olden times, when a person gives his life to Christ, you see the visible changes that shows he has given his life to Christ. These days, they don’t change, in temper, in manners, in preferences and almost in everything.

Do You call yourself a Christian, and still go after the worldly things and spend your time, energy, money on them, which in turn ruin the soul? The Christian is told in Scriptures to set his affections on things above and not on this world (Col 3:1); and to strive to enter into the kingdom of God. You cannot be alive to the world and not dead to Christ. You must die to the world and be crucified to its affections.

But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. Galatians 6:14
